This 125-page strong Issue includes Part II of our extensive 2022 Vintage Report, a full report to the upcoming Auctions, and Part II of our 2021 dry German Riesling Report. Here is what is in store.
2022 saw one of the hottest and driest summers in history: So, are the wines rich, powerful, and full-bodied? Well, not at all, as the vintage turned out unexpectedly classic and delivered some stunners.
We review the growing conditions, describe the wine styles, and share our buying guide!
Part II of the Vintage Report includes 10 detailed Estate Reviews (with 140 wines sampled). It also provides detailed tasting notes for another 170 wines from a further 30 Estates. The report also includes recent releases from past vintages (2021, 2020, and 2019).
On top of classics from great established Estates, we also unearthed some beauties from upcoming and still largely unknown new growers.
The 2023 Auctions (VDP Mosel, Bernkasteler Ring, and VDP Nahe-Ahr-Pfalz-Rheinhessen) will take place in a few days, on September 15-16-17. They offer wine lovers the possibility to acquire some of the finest casks of German Riesling. We provide some background on the events as well as detailed tasting notes for the wines on offer at all three events ahead of the events.
The Issue also includes Part II of our 2022 dry German Riesling report with 200 wines tasted, many of which are GGs from leading Estates (these wines have just been released). The report also includes other dry Riesling highlights from the Mosel.
