This 120-page strong Issue includes Part I of our extensive 2019 Vintage Report with 450 wines from 90 Estates incl. the wine from the upcoming Auctions. Here is what is in store.
2019 was anything but easy ... but at the top, the vintage is epic and up there, with the finest classic vintages of the region.
However, this is only at the top: The vintage was also ripe and it was all too easy to end up with creamy powerful wines marked by the sun. More than ever, advise will be key to buy smartly in 2019.
Part II of the Vintage Report includes 12 detailed Estate Reviews (with 150 wines sampled). It also provides detailed tasting notes for another 230 wines from a further 35 Estates, including from some new exciting names we bet you have never heard off.
The 2020 Auctions (VDP Mosel, Bernkasteler Ring, and VDP Nahe-Ahr-Rheinhessen-Pfalz) will take place later this September and offer wine lovers the possibility to acquire some of the finest casks of German Riesling. We provide some background on the events as well as detailed tasting notes for the wines on offer … including for the Bad Kreuznach Auction!
“Where can I access mature German Riesling?” As an answer to this regular question of our readers, we provide here detailed tasting notes for some superb mature Riesling which have been or are being released by the Estates.
