August 1, 2009: News, Wines of the Month
Our Mosel of the month for August is a refined Spätlese from the 2008 vintage, and a great example for its category! This wine has been reviewed in our first part of our extensive 2008 Vintage Report which is still available. It covers over 20 Estates, including Dr. F. Weins-Prüm.

Bert Selbach (Weingut Dr. F. Weins-Prüm) produced another superb collection in 2008, providing great examples of light and elegant wines from the Middle Mosel. Lovers of this style (which is so classic for this Estate) will be happy to learn 2008 is another fine success here.

Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese

This offers the telltale lightness and breathtaking aromatics of Wehlener Sonnenuhr wines with notes of peach, apricot, flowers, smoky slate and light exotic fruits. It is light and playful on the palate with a great long and elegant finish. This is a nice example of sappy Spätlese. 2014-2023
